Sunshine Lives

Welcome to Wednesday my stamping friends. I’ve got some exciting news to share with you. Today begins my trial period as a Water Cooler Challenge Artist with the Watercooler Wednesday Challenges Design Team. I am excited to show my talents through my creations each week with all of you.

So for the first challenge (and quite a challenge it is) Marsha has a new to me technique called Bounching Brayer. It is exactly as the name states. All you do is ink your Brayer tool or anything that has an edge to get a similar look and bounce it up and down on your card stock. You can keep the tool of your choice straight, turn and/or twist to get a different look. While I watched a "how to" video all that was popping in my head was a sunburst. Ready to see what I created for you?

For my first attempt to create an inked sunburst with this technique. I had used the Daffodil Delight ink on Whisper White card stock and was unhappy with the result. Added the Pumpkin Pie ink to hopefully correct it. The outcome was that the two colors blended more than I wanted them to be. If you look close enough you will see the Brayer lines.
Next I inked up some clouds and heat embossed them with White emboss powder.  I really wanted a sunburst on my card so I ended up cutting one from Vellum with the Sunburst Thinlet. I'm ready to attempt the technique for the second time. I grabbed another piece os Whisper White card stock and the Daffodil Delight again. Looks VERY similar to the last time. Guess what? If you said that I was going to add the Pumpkin Pie ink you are correct! Yeah you! Although this time I made sure that you could see the Brayer lines.

Creating a sunrise card, the sentiment needed to be encouraging and uplifting. I searched through my stamp stash to find that perfect saying for this bright happy card. Feel Goods stamp set had it! I added a few Rhinestone Jewels for that extra bling. I also added a tiny fork bow with the Whisper White ¼” Cotton Ribbon.

Now it's your turn. I'd like to see you try Marsha's Bouncing Brayer technique and enter your creation(s) for this week's challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge (#WWC54). The deadline to enter is Monday, February 15, 2016.  Thank you for visiting me today. Hope you will return tomorrow for some more craftiness I want to share with you.

  1. Your card is quite pretty Leanne! It combines several of my favorite products! The way you showcased the technique is great! It's subtle. I think the color choice in the brayering was perfect!
