Stampin Friends April Blog Hop

Ready to view what I created?

All things animal should be easy right? Wrong! As I searched my craft room I had thoughts of using the Go Wild DSP stack and Zoo Babies stamp set. Once I had the supplies on my desk it just sat there for a few days. So needless to say I didn’t use them. I searched for some inspiration on Pinterest (ok I got lost for a few minutes – ok ok hours – geesh, don’t judge me. I know you do it too! Your secret is safe with me. wink wink)

I came across a very adorable set of bear cards and just needed to create them Stampin’ Up! style. I CASE'd Joni Nina Andaya. Choose to make these Baby Bear cards. One for a boy and one for a girl.

I heat embossed the noses in Gold embossing powder. Do you see the bows? I used the Cotton Ribbon to just add some additional texture to these simple cute bear cards.

I added a bit of “blush” to her cheeks.

I came up with this all on my own and thought it could be used for wedding or new parents. It’s always great to make a gift that has a multipurpose. Don't you agree?

It all started with the Shine On Specialty DSP. I like the Silver Stripe and well the other side (aka inside of the mini treat bag) is Watermelon Wonder triangles. So that is what started my color scheme and design. Silver, Kraft and Watermelon Wonder. Interesting combination right? Well I think it worked out well. With having the "Love Birds" on my mind (for wedding or new parents) the World of Dreams image would work perfectly. I used Crumb Cake ink as the base (for the tree branches and nest) then used my Cucumber Crush marker to color the leaves and the Watermelon Wonder marker to color the birds. Silver Heart Fancy Foil vellum softens the stamped image on top of the Tea Lace Doily. I used up some of my scrap pieces of ribbons and some wooden embellishments for some additional flair.

Here is the back side to show off the Watermelon Wonder 1” Stitched Ribbon that is wrapped around the entire mini treat bag. The seam is hidden behind the doily. Hope you enjoyed my animal creations.
