Lovely Thanks

Today is an amazing day!

I was chosen as the winner for What Will You Stamp? (#WWYS36) for my Hello Fall card using the For All Things stamp set.  But wait there's more. I've been invited to be a guest designer for #WWYS39 Challenge that begins today. Come play along with WWYS.

You ready to see what I made for this challenge? Here is my card. I fell in love with the layout and wanted to case Kimberly Van Diepen's card. Of course I changed a few items.

Here is a closer view of the tree and you can see the leaves in different colors.

I used the technique called Thumping. Thumping is a stamping technique where you stamp an image with a lighter ink and take your Stampin' Marker (generally a darker color) and tap the brush tip gently across the stamp until your desired looked to add a bit more color. Hold the marker in your hand like you would a pencil and tap (like that annoying habit someone has when they are taking a test and have a nervous tick). I know you know what I mean. Viola!

I first stamped the tree in Tip Top Taupe and stamped off to have the shade a bit lighter. Then I took my Hello Honey and Cajun Craze Stampin' Write Markers and thumped them over the tree tops. The Hello Honey didn't stay as yellow as I expected but there is a base of Tip Top Taupe under it. I still enjoy the outcome. A very autumnal card to send thanks.

Don't you love how the gold metallic foil doily coordinates with the colors? I just had to show you the layers to this card when it lays flat.

Thank you for stopping by today. Be sure to come back tomorrow to for some blog candy and a fun holiday stocking stuffer.

Don't forget that today starts the Online Extravaganza! Sure hope you have your wishlist and are ready to shop some very good deals (50%, 40%, 30% and 20%) and a Flash Sale today and next Monday, 11/30/2015. The sooner you shop the better the selection because it's while supplies last.

  2. I love, love, love your card Leanne! There are so many fabulous details to this card that I just had to sit here staring at it for a few minutes. From the embossed woodgrain background, washi tape and gold doilie to the many beautiful layers this card is a standout. Top it off with that gorgeous tree and just Wow! We are so lucky to have you join us this week as our guest designer. I really hope we will see you in many challenges to come.
    Happy Thanksgiving!
