Congrats

Welcome back my friends. Today I’m playing along with Global Design Project and their sketch challenge. Immediately I thought of using some punch art for the focal point. I made a graduation cap. I'm anticipating the need of graduation cards that I'll need to send in the next few weeks.

Using the Chalk Talk Framelits (See the photo below with the arrow pointing to the one I used) I cut a piece of Basic Black for the base for the Graduation Cap. Then for the mortarboard piece, I had used a 1" scrap piece of Basic Black and cut on an angle at ½”, flipped the piece on the cutter and cut again at 1". I hope that makes sense.

I thought about making a twine tassel but that was going to just take too long. Ha. So to continue with paper crafting, I remembered that the Balloon Framelits had a tassel that should be about the same size as the graduation cap. I stamped off the tassel image with Smoky Slate ink, cut it out with the framelit and attached it to the cap with a Silver Mini Brad.

I used the sketch from Global Design Project (#GDP030).
