Believe in Love

Hello my crafty friends! I am excited to be participating in an International Blog Highlight that is hosted by a fellow Australian Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Kylie Bertucci. The theme for the blog highlight is “Love”. It can be any type of love: animal, anniversary, baby, friend, romance, wedding and so much more. Endless possibilities.

I have decided to create a traditional scrapbook page using my brother (Josh) and sister-in-law’s (Stacy) baby announcement photo. At the time of the picture was taken, they didn’t know the sex of the baby. Now they do and IT'S A GIRL! I’m very excited to have my first niece on my side of the family! I cannot wait to meet her in September.

Being inspired by a new baby girl on the way, I chose to keep the colors to what Stacy liked. Pink and Gold. Also I would like to send a quick Birthday shout out to Stacy! Today is her quarter century birthday! Happy Birthday Stacy! Hope you have a great day! Thank you for sticking with me as got a bit sidetracked. Let me give you a closer look at the various pieces around the page. Are you ready?

Starting at the top left side:

The exact sentiment to what I think Josh and Stacy feel about their first ultrasound photo (which they have pictured in their announcement). I had stamped it in Rose Red ink on Whisper White card stock and cut out using the Chalk Talk Framelits. I also chose to draw attention to the word LOVE and have that also stamped in Rose Red ink on Blushing Bride card stock and cut in the shape of a banner. Beneath the sentiment is a stamped off swirled image in Crumb Cake ink. I have a few more of these on the lower left and top right corners. Notice the Blushing Bride Glimmer paper banner? It almost looks like a bow. Cute right?

Now onto the middle of the page:

I added some heat embossing in gold. I angled the photo so you could see the shininess. If you look close the Prjoect Life Paper Clip that is attached to the photo has been stamped with the sentiment "the best moments." I felt this was appropriate becuase Josh and Stacy will be experiencing the best moments of becoming parents.

As we continue to the middle right of the page:

You will notice the Gold Heart Fancy Foil Design Vellum piece. I know this is going to probably sound cheesy but I kept their last name (Quint) in mind. The three hearts hanging over the Crumb Cake card stock representing Josh, Stacy and the new baby girl. The other two hearts potential future children. Get it? Quint = Five = 5. Ok I know, I told you cheesy but hey I have a nack for attention to detail. There is another paper clip on the vellum. This gold banner clip is from the You're So Lovely project kit. I took the Rose Red bow from the Love Blossoms Embellishment kit off the traditional gold paper clip and added it to the gold banner clip. It coordinated with a few other banners I have on the page.

You will notice another Project Life Paper Clip in Rose Red card stock and ink stamped Stacy’s new title. Mother. There is a Project Life Paper Clip in Crumb Cake card stock and ink stamped with Josh’s new title Father. Not that you couldn’t tell by their legs and shoes who was who but like I said above it’s the attention to detail. They will have new titles of Daddy and Mommy and not sure how or when that will sink in for each of them.

On to the lower right side to show the last of the details:

Gold Glimmer paper and Rose Red banners make perfect accents to the finish the rest of the page. The Rose Red banner is stamped with the heart border from the Birthday Blooms stamp set in Rose Red ink. Some more gold heat embossing with Big News under the banners and photo. This was to finish the “your little baby is” sentiment above the photo.

Thank you so much for sticking with me as I explained the story behind why I created this Love themed project for Kylie’s International Stampin’ Up! Blog Highlight.  I'm generally not this long winded in my blog posts but this one was very special to me.
