Washi Wednesday

SSINK is all about the Washi Tape today!

I learned a new technique for washi tape.

Yes, of course I will share it with you!

Thank you Brandi for your insight on this new way to use up the washi tape!
Brandi Barnard (trainer from Stampin' Up! Home Office and fellow demonstrator) showed us how to create handles from washi tape. I can see myself using washi tape more often on my creations now. ;)

So now onto what do I make with Washi Tape handles you ask?

A bag of course! Out comes the Gift Bag Punch Board.

Why would a card need handles?

Ha. Wait that could be a thing.

I'll have to jot that down and try to come up with something.

Stay tuned for a possible future card with handles post.

Ok where were we, ah yes, the main reason you are here to see what I created with Washi Tape!

Well I do not own much of the current washi tape (yet) and wanted to create something that you wouldn't normally think to use for the halloween holiday season.

I decided to provide you with a sneak peek of a few images from a stamp set I won from a prize patrol at Convention. Woohoo!

I had received the Howl-o-ween Treat stamp set.

It has matching framelits too however I do not have those yet as wasn't able to get them in my premiere pre-ordering period (available for all Convention attendees) but I could get them in my pre-order which I did as of yesterday! Yippee!!! Now just waiting for the brown truck to deliver my goodies from the holiday catalog! :)

WOW I'm getting nothing but side tracked here.

I think I still need to show you the project right?

I just scrolled up to check.

There weren't any photos up there of the project.

WOW I like to ramble! Ha.

OK ok

Here it is!

I took a 12" piece of the Sweet Li'l Things Washi Tape and put the two ends together and made sure the rest of the washi tape lined up adhering to the other sticky side. So you should now have a 6" piece of washi tape that is not sticky on either side. I did this a second time for the other side of the bag and attached them with a glue dot.

For a more secure handle, you could use the stapler.

Here is the front of this adorable treat bag.

My color combination comes from the colors within the Sweet Lil' Things Designer Washi Tape.

Hello Honey, Pool Party, Tangelo Twist, Tip Top Taupe Very Vanilla, Watermelon Wonder

Here is the backside.
The treat bag is 2 5/8" x 2 5/8".

I had cut out a 4" x 10" piece of Tangelo Twist as the base of the bag and followed the Small gift bag directions on the Gift Bag Punch Board.

Here is a view of the treat inside.

My husband says it really looks like owl poop!

Closer view of the owl poop (aka Whoppers) and the cotton ribbon that I curled.

To curl the ribbon, I'm assuming you know how to curl it with your scissors blades open and run the ribbon along the edge (please be careful not to cut yourself). If not, click here for step by step directions how to curl ribbon.
I used the theme challenge from The Paper Players (#PP256).

Which was to design a square card.

Ok, well clearly, I cannot read/follow directions very well because this isn't a card.

In my defense what little trick or treater wouldn't want to get this from me on Halloween when they scare my husband and I at our front door?

That's right come visit us and you'll get some handcrafted treats! ;)
