My Craft Space

Welcome to the “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the “Blogging Friends”? We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators located all across the U.S. and Canada who had never met before. Well, actually, we still haven’t met yet (in person)… But, through our common bond of Stampin’ Up! and a shared love of paper crafting we have created a fun new blog hop. Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!

Each month we’ll have a different theme: this month its Craft Space tour/Tell us about you.

I welcome you to Literally My Joy. (LMJ – my initials)

Hello, my name is Leanne Johnson. I have been paper crafting with Stampin' Up! products since 2001. I am an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator (August of 2010). I was born and raised in Connecticut and currently still here. No I do not have an accent. In case you were wondering. Ha I invite you to meet my family.

My husband, Scott.
After work, on days off and most weekends
you will find him here on the golf course.

My fur-babies, Divot and Bunker
Divot is all gray and Bunker has a white face, paws and belly.
They too love when UPS delivers my Stampin’ Up! orders.

I do not have a crafting style. I think I’m still searching for a name for it but it is unique. I try to challenge myself to come up with my own ideas with the assistance from sketch, color, theme or product specific challenges. There are some days though where I cannot find my crafting mojo and I end up CASEing (Copy and Share Everything / Copy and Selectively Edit) other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators or go searching on Pinterest for ideas.

I am not a messy stamper. Meaning I do not like having inky/glued fingers. But really who does? I do make a pretty big mess when I craft. Ink pads, card stock pieces, punches, stamps and those dimensional backing pieces are everywhere (on the couch, on the bathroom floor, on the cat’s paws, etc). Once my project is complete everything is cleaned up and put away for the next project.

A clean crafting place is healthy for the creative mind. At least it helps me become more creative when I don’t have to worry about all the previous used supplies.

Ok so enough about me, let’s get to the real reason you are here, to see my craft space.

I'm going to take you through as if you were to walk right in from the door. This is my spare room in the house. As I horded more and more crafting supplies, it was getting a bit crazy to take them out almost each day, spread out on the kitchen table to finish up my project. So my husband and I converted the spare room into my room (aka my crafting space).

From the door (which only stays shut to keep the fur-babies out while I'm not in there) you will be greeted by two desks. The one closest to the door is for my crafting friends to use. I have the one furtherest in the corner with the two lamps and computer on it. It's a crafting table from IKEA. Yes that is where all the magic happens!

As you turn right from the door or turnaround from my desk chair, this is the view. Yup, another desk. Ha. The shelves above the desk here hold embellishments, washi tape and all my heat embossing suppiles (powder and heat tool). To the left of the desk is my Ribbon Rack. Scott is very handy and had made this me. Isn't he the best?

As you continue to turn right this is the rest of my room. There is a countertop enough for two – three more work areas. Above the countertop is cubbies that hold my stamp sets. The lower three are current and the top three are retired.

If you turn around here, this is the full view of my desk (to the right) and another work area (to the left.) Above my desk you will notice again the hubby’s handy work creating an ink pad storage. Can you tell he is very supportive of my hobby/side business? I mean he can go shopping anytime for a card. Just needs to turn the card rack for the perfect card. Ha! I hope you enjoyed my craft room tour today. I invite you back to visit me each day to see what new crafty project(s) I've been making to share with you.

In case you’ve never ‘done’ a blog hop before, it’s really easy!  At the bottom of this post, you’ll see another image similar to the one above, and when you click on it, you’ll be taken directly to the next blog in the hop.  Keep clicking on that image at the bottom of each blog post, and you’ll hop through all of the participating blogs, back to where you started – and you’ll see all of the amazing craft spaces and maybe will inspire you too!  If you’d prefer to hop about at your leisure, you can click on the individual links for each blog.  Happy Hopping!
