Ever After

Welcome back my stamping friends! I have gift card holder card for you today! It uses the same size card base as a normal A2 card that you would make but with a few extra folds and punching a center you can fit a gift card, cash or even a check (huh what are those? - Great big belly laugh!)

I started with Blushing Bride as my card base and cut it to 5½” x 8½”.  Now I hope you can stick with me here because I didn’t take any photos during the process of creating this card. Next I scored at 2¾”,  4¼” (the normal score line for the middle of the card) and 5¾”. I used my bone folder to get the crisp score lines.

I then took an old gift card (no balance but comes in handy for measuring) measured the width and marked both sides with a pencil. I took the Word Window punch and inserted the center score line (4½”) of the card and went about halfway and punched. I did this twice (once to the left and once to the right of my pencil marks). There was a little overlap that didn’t catch the punch. You can do one of two things and insert that back into the punch and line it up to cut it out or take your paper snips and just cut it off. If you were to open the card you would see that in the center now has the shape of the Word Window punch. We are now going to adhere those two smaller sections so that your Word Window shape turns into a pocket on the inside when you open the card. You will see what I’m talking about in the second photo below.

The front of my card (hard to see in the photo) the Happily Ever After sentiment is heat embossed with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder directly on the Timeless Elegance DSP.

Here is the inside and I used my business card to show you where the gift card would be housed.

I used the theme from SUO Challenges (#SUO149).
